RunescapeFor Runescape players out there, there is next to nothing more horrible than losing your most prized items–not because they were taken off of your slain player’s body, but because you were tricked into giving them to someone in a legal trade.

There are a few major scams that abound: the ‘Hey, give me your items real quick and I’ll give you something cool.’ scam, the ‘Drop Your Items and Hit Alt + F4′ scam, scams where one player goes into the Wilderness following a player they believe to be their friend into a trap, among others. Last two artils we have make many scamer ways in game exit . Now i make about 10 tips on how to avoiding runescape scames in game for your conference.

1)Watch the second trade screen closely before accepting. The October update makes this scam impossible. Because you cannot trade out of the 5-10k (depends on quest points) limit (for non-members) and up to 60k for members. Even Mithril is worth more then 10k, so as stated before this no longer applies.

2)Know what the “true” value of items are when trading. The January 2nd update makes this scam impossible. Whenever you trade an item it now shows the value of the item

3)Do not ever go to the wilderness to trade. Don’t even come close to the ditch with your valuable items and money. Some players may say they want to trade somewhere close to the north but they are actually trying lure you into the north so that NPCs can kill you. Remember, the wilderness is the only place that is NOT secure for trading and you are likely to be killed by the renevant ghosts.
4)Beware of keystrokes. One common scam is to tell someone that if they drop 5 coins on the ground and hit Atl-F4 it will double. This is not true and Alt-F4 closes your web browser so you can’t stop them from taking the money. Do not press any keys without knowing what they do on your computer first.

5)Watch out for auto-talkers with great offers. Most scammers are lazy to type, so they use auto-talkers and use different colors and effects to their writing. They use catchy phrases or unbelievable, generous offers to bring you to them. Auto-talkers are against the rules of runescape. So report those who use them!
6)You may also want to add the player that you are trading with to the friend list so if they log out and you don’t remember their name you can always copy it from your friend list.

7)Try to learn the scams which exist so that you are protected from them. If you check How to Scam in Runescape(article has been deleted) you will know about, and be protected, from many scams.

8)For a complete article on viruses in Runescape, please read How to Avoid Keyloggers and Viruses in Runescape. This article will explain scams that occur outside of the actual game.

9)Before agreeing to a trade on the forums, ask the player where the trade is going to take place. Sometimes players offer good items for a low price… But want you to meet them in the middle of the Wilderness. If that is the case, you can report them on the Forum Emergencies sticky in the General Forum.

10)You may also want to add the player that you are trading with to the friend list so if they log out and you don’t remember their name you can always copy it from your friend list.

Scamming is to deceive or trick another player for one’s own personal gain. Deliberately lying to others about how much an item is worth and the rarity of an item is considered a scam. A trade that seems too good is most likely a scam and thus you should be extra careful when you are trading. Remember that Jagex cannot and will not return any lost or stolen items, so it will most likely be your fault if you get scammed. Also, lying to players to gain account information is also considered password scamming and should be reported instantly.

Last Artils i have make some scamer ways. Now let’s contince as following:

Then the scammer would ask you if you would like to join their clan. Often, they would say, if you join the clan, you will get full rune or a santa free. They would show you the santa or rune in a trade.

Then, both the scammer and the scout would ask you to do their trust test. The scammer says that he must take everything off and give it to the next person. Then the next person would wear it and give it back. Both the scammer and the scout do the act of trading and giving back.

Now, they ask you to do it. You take off your armor and trade it to them and they don’t trade it back to you.

Item Type Switches
Scammer changes a valueable item which you want to buy for a simmilar but of less value item, for example:
White party hat for Purple Hat
Rune G for Rune T
Magic Logs for Oak Logs

Solution:Be very careful on these trades as normally big money is involved. Do NOT rush

Runescape Team scamming

Be careful of players selling strange items for high prices. You may see that a player is selling an item at a certain price and another player buying the same item at a higher price. Be very careful of such scams, and make sure you know the item well before buying it.

Scammers using Impatience

Someone offers way to much for what you’re selling. He keeps on declining and stalling and asking noob questions, but you don’t care because you just want the money.

Soon you get impatient and just keep pressing accept. When he sees you’re getting impatient, he notices that. Then, he pulls it away while you keep pressing accept.

The Trust Scam
The Scammer asks you to give him an item and in return hell give you the item back as well as giving a gift/acceptance into a clan/or some other bogus thing. Either way, don not do it as youll just loose your item.

Giving away free accounts

The above is not only against the rules of conduct, but also might be a scam. If you see anyone doing so, report them for Account sharing/trading.

*Note*
1: Jagex will never ask for your password EVER
2: Jagex Mods have crowns before their names in chats
3: Jagex staff CAN NOT BAN YOU on the spot, without review
4: Jagex staff will NEVER give free gear

Swapping noted items, Scamming on Runescape

Item Swap
Person A: Selling 5000 Yew logs for 100gp ea!!
Person B thinks: *WOW, cheap!*
Person B trades Person A
Person A puts up 5,000 Yew logs, asking person B to hurry as they have to go.
Person B puts up the money; Person A declines, and says “Oops”
They trade again, Person B puts up the money, Person A puts up a DIFFERENT type of log; Person B accepts without checking the trade screen - Person B has been scammed, Person A logs out.
This often occurs with logs, noted armour and weapons.

Luring As Scam

Be careful of all luring scams, as the scammer may attempt to get you killed (either by NPCs or by other players) to gain your items. Kindly decline if you know what the player is offering you to do is dangerous, it’s not worth to show off and lose your items as a result.

Note: This guide has been written to make people aware of the sort of scams that are out there.

Ever been scammed out of your valuables? Ever lost your account to a nasty hacker? This guide here will tell you all the ways that you can do to prevent and protect yourself from being hacked or scammed. It is best that you read the guide completely, and perhaps remind yourself of the tips in it whenever you are playing Runescape. I strongly believe that if every player of Runescape are clever and well-prepared enough not to get scammed or hacked, it will greatly reduce the bad elements in Runescape and discourage them from carrying out their attempts at ruining the game.

Armor duplication, Runescape Scam

Item multiplier scam
Person A lures others to a quiet area
Person A: I know a way to multiply your items! Drop your most valuable item on the ground, then press “”alt+F4 (Windows OS hotkey to close any application) / ctrl+W (Hotkey in internet explorer to close browser) / Alt+F+C (Windows OS alt tag to go File > Close) / Alt+Down arrow+Up arrow+Enter (Windows OS alt tag to go File > Close).”"
Person B drops items and closes the browser/client.
Person A waits to collect items.

Runescape 100k to 1k Scam

Often found when selling something for things under 1 million gold, they simply remove 98996 gold after a sec of time to make it appear like 100k is still there when in fact your now getting 1004 gold, to a quick glancing eye the 4 can be mistaken for a k
Solution: wait 4 seconds before hitting 2nd accept button and review screen carefully, never be in a hurry.

Lying about an item As runescape Scam

This includes claiming an unrare item rare. It also includes claiming an item’s ability to do something that the item cannot do.

Armor Trimming - Runescape Scam

There is no such thing as trimming. Many people try to scam others by taking their armour, saying that they can trim it. This is Impossible so don’t fall for it.

Rock Hammer as a Granite Maul Scamer
This scam works on those wishing to buy a granite maul, technically its not agianst the rules to scam this way, but it is a scam none the less. Sellers says ” Selling Rock Hammer 600k” *seller is holding a granite maul* Buyer says “ill buy your granite maul”, seller says “allright, ill sell you my rock hammer, hows 600k sound?” to a person who never owned a granite maul before, they may think its just called rock hammer in trade, and the icon of a rock hammer does look like a granite maul, thus the guy buys a rock hammer thinking it is the huge granite maul and ends up 600k poorer

Tricking a player to give an item away

Asking a player to drop an item and press alt+F4 is a scam as pressing the keys closes the Runescape window, allowing the scammer to take your items away.
Charcoal as a Runescape Scam

Some people in F2P may come up to and want you to buy their charcoal. Do NOT buy it. Charcoal is used in the Legends Quest (Members only), to Map the Kharazi Jungle. Charcoal sells for about 4gp each from the Tai Bwo Wannai General Store. It is also used in the Digsite quest as an ingredient in the explosive compound.

Hurried Remove  As scammer
When Buyer really sees a good deal they somtiems hurry, seller can remove the item without buyer ever nowing, thus buyer is scamed
Solution: wait 4 seconds and review 2nd trade screen carefully

Runescape Trust game/trade As Scamer

This is almost always a scam, as the scammer will ask you to give something to him and promising to give it back. Remember that trades aren’t reversible, and you may never get back your items! Always report such instances and never engage in a trade like this.

Item Swap Scams in Runescape As SCam

If you see someone selling something for cheap, automatically be suspicious. You can still go over and trade with them, but don’t accept until you’re 100% sure that your paying for the right item. A lot of people fall for this, when the other trade takes away some of the items he originally put up.

Example: Player trades me, puts up 2k coal. He then says “200k”, I put up 200k. Everything seems ok, until I reached the final Screen. There was only 200 coal, instead of 2,000. DECLINE.

Do NOT fall for it. If someone offers to buy a rare item of yours, for a ridiculously high amount of gp, be cautious.

If this person puts up say, 4,000,000gp, be careful that he doesn’t update it in a few moments to something that LOOKS larger than 4M but is actually more around the value of 4K!

Jagex blocks password As SCam
this scam takes your password from you. Scammer says “Look Jagex blocks your pass! see! ******** ” . scammie says Cool! my ******** is Banana! ” — ” ohh **** it didnt block my ******** ” thus you just said your password is banana to the scammer.

Runescape Item switching As Scamer

This happens when the scammer switches his items without you noticing. To avoid this, be careful to check the second trade screen and make sure you are getting what you deserve. If a trade has been changed, a large flashing exclamation mark will appear, so this should help in determining whether the player can be trusted in a trade or not.

So when you konw about this guild  you can avoiding Scamed in Game . Take care of it . Let the Scamer go away! How do you thinnk about this guilds? Is it usefuly for you ? Plz make an Comment for us to improve it .Thank you!

Q: What happens if I forget my Bank PIN number?
A: When the bank PIN keypad appears on the screen and asks for your Bank PIN, press “I don’t know” and you will be able to access your bank in 3 to 7 days, depending on your Bank PIN settings.

Q: Will I have to enter the PIN every time I go to a bank?
A: No, but you will have to enter your PIN every time you log in.

Q: Someone at Jagex asked me to tell him my PIN, should I tell him?
A: No! Never tell Jagex staff or any other player your bank PIN or password, if someone asks for it use the Report Abuse button immediately.
Q:I think my computer has been keylogged, what do I do?

A:Do something! Scan your computer fully and remove these harmful elements. Then change your Runescape password immediately, perhaps with your recovery questions. Make sure you have a good firewall as well.

Q:I just visited a site offering Runescape benefits. Is there anything I should do?

A:Yes, you should definitely scan your computer for keyloggers and trojans. If you find that you have caught one of these things, remove them and change your Runescape password. Get a good firewall too.
Q:Someone is holding a drop party, but he didn’t drop anything. Is that a scam?

A:No, it is not. Scamming involves taking a person’s item. In this case, he didn’t take anyone’s item but just merely played a joke on everyone.
Q:My recovery questions are changed by a scammer! What do I do?

A:In such case, the scammer might already know your password. Immediately change your password before the scammer does! Go to the Runescape frontpage and click on “Recover a lost password” under the Account Recovery section.
Q:I accidentally fell for a password scam, and now my password is changed. What do I do?

A:Go to the RuneScape frontpage and click on the link that says “Recover a lost password” under the Account Recovery section.
